Rebecca Haas
Metal Jewelry
A native Vermonter, Rebecca recently returned to Vermont after living and working for 12 years in Brooklyn, New York. She has recreated her studio in a converted dairy barn in Chester, Vermont, and now finds her creativity being nurtured by that tranquil setting. Her pieces are primarily made from formed and hammered wire of various gauges, and each piece is handmade to order by the artist. Rebecca works with sterling silver, 14k gold fill and 14k gold, combining these elements with delicate chains or brightly colored silk cords. Her work is minimalist in sensibility and draws its strength and definition from its balance, delicacy, and graceful investigation into positive and negative space.
Rebecca Haas Jewelry was launched in Brooklyn, NY in 2001. By that point Rebecca had pursued the study of jewelry design by taking jewelry design courses at Penland School of Crafts, the University of Mexico in San Miguel de Allende, and New York University. She had also completed working internships with Debbie Fisher Jewelry and Hope Higbee Designs. Her work can be found in many galleries and boutiques across the country, as well as international locations in Canada and Japan. She continues to further develop her primary aesthetic purpose to make jewelry that is minimal and sculptural, as well as always eminently wearable and beautiful.
